Разность между полными результатами рассматриваемого изменения экономической системы (например, хозяйственного мероприятия, варианта планового решения) и полными затратами на его реализацию. На практике, прежде всего в связи с трудностью реального расчета результатов, применяются различные упрощенные модификации этого показателя (см. Максимальный народнохозяйственный эффект, Экономический эффект, Эффективность капитальных вложений (инвестиционных проектов), Эффективность производства, Эффективность экономических решений, Эффективность экономического развития).

максимальный народнохозяйственный эффект
Один из критериев оптимальности, применяемых в экономико-математических плановых и прогнозных расчетах. Если рассматриваются несколько вариантов плана развития производства тех или иных продуктов, то лучшим признается тот, который обеспечивает М.н.э., включающий не только наибольшую суммарную эффективность производства, но и наибольшую эффективность потребления этих продуктов. То есть под экономическим эффектом здесь понимается разница в общих затратах как на производство, так и на использование (например, на эксплуатацию в промышленности, на транспорте и т.д.) эквивалентных количеств сравниваемых продуктов. В частности, такой критерий применялся при решении задач планирования производства синтетических материалов, взаимозаменяемых с естественными.
